Guestbook

- Thank you for providing the base for a lovely break, from the first moment we opened the front door to laying down in our homely beds we have loved our stay/surroundings - April 2017

- We had a great time biking, swimming, walking, boating, running! Lots of picnics & BBQs. Kids loved it. Really nice house.

- WE have been coming to LME for many years, but this was our first time at Celandine and it won't be our last! It's all been said by others but it's a lovely property, well equipped and in a great spot. Thanks!

- We love this house! It has everything you need and a perfect view. Ideal for family vacations and so close to so many amazing pubs!

- This is our first holiday to the Cotswolds and we could not have chosen a better 'home' from which to explore the area. It's a wonderful house and my daughter asked if she could move to the house permanently! It had everything we needed. We plan to come again!!!

- We had the most wonderful week - rain or shine, we enjoyed every moment. House wonderful, all creature comforts and fresh and stylish.

- Thanks very much for sharing your spectacular home with us. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt very relaxed in this beautiful setting.

- A wonderful relaxing break. Beautiful house and lovely part of the country. Decking areas and barbie great!

- What a gorgeous home! Lovely indoor and outdoor space with a great kitchen - fab for dinner parties! The Artspa was excellent and we barely left the complex all weekend - what a treat. We hope to come back again soon.

- Easily the most well-equipped house we have ever rented - which was slightly annoying as I bought half my kitchen with me! Three generations locked together in appalling weather and yet the time passed by in a flash! Thank you so much.

- We had a wonderful holiday in this amazing house. Quite apart from the position on the lake, and the ‘upside-down’ layout of the house with the living rooms and kitchen on the top floor, Sarah had thought of everything we might need to make our holiday one to remember. The house is finished to an extremely high quality, and everywhere was very clean and tidy. Sarah has supplied fluffy white towels, and quality linen in all the bedrooms. Sadly, it was a little too cold to utilise the sun deck, but on clear nights we went up for a 360ᵒ view of the stars.Although the weather was cool, we were lucky enough to have very little rain, so managed to explore the site, with its various lakes, and visit the beavers’ building works. There was a lot of wildlife, apart from the many water birds, and the many walks through the unspoilt countryside made it easy to view this. We made good use of the pool and gym at the Artspa (the grandchildren loved the pools, both inside and out), and it was so nice to be able to let them ride their bikes safely along the Estate roads, as the speed limit is walking pace. We visited the Cotswold Country Park and the brave members of our family tested out the Zorbing – great fun.We had a couple of really nice meals out in Cirencester and in the nearby village, but Sarah has equipped the kitchen so well, that we were happy to cook our own meals and watch the swans on the lake as we sat at the dining table.Throughout the booking process Sarah was very easy to deal with, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this house to anyone. It is certainly a holiday with a difference.

- Perfect for our three-generation family get-together. The property had everything we wanted ..... and more. The layout was ideal and all fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. A special mention and many thanks to the owners for catering for everbody.

- 7 of us stayed at Celadine for a week. From age 4 to 74 and we all loved it. The children enjoyed feeding the swans and ducks from the balconies looking over the lake. The grown ups loved chilling out on the spacious roof terrace watching the stars on a night.
The house was spotless, modern and very peaceful and quiet.
We all loved the spa swimming pools, indoor, outdoor and a couple of strokes in the cold Eco pool! It was all very clean and new looking.
I would thoroughly recommend this holiday for anyone looking for an active family holiday or a relaxing spa holiday, it suits all.

- We booked Celandine for four nights to celebrate my daughter's birthday and end of GCSEs - as we took a few of her friends with us I really appreciated having so many floors to spread over, and took over the ground floor as "my space"!We've been to Lower Mill before, but first time to this house and it was a lovely experience, views from every window, very well equipped, loads of wildlife and a reasonable walk to the Spa and pool. The girls were all completely wowed by the house and complex, so much so they refused to go anywhere else during the week, and the only time I went off complex was to get supplies. Communication with Sarah was great, and the rental was a reasonable price compared with the Estate lettings agency - we will definitely be back at some point next year.

- We stayed at Celandine with family members who reside abroad, and there were 8 of us in total. Booking and dealing with the owner, Sarah, was very easy by email and she supplied us with all the information we needed (and more besides) about the house, estate and surrounding area.
Following Sarah's instructions the house was easy to find and it offered a real 'Wow!' moment when we walked in, it's much bigger than the pictures suggest and all the decor, furniture and fittings were fresh and modern. The large decks off every floor and the sky terrace were lovely and we cursed the awful weather for not letting us make more use of them.
We did have one tiny issue in that the microwave hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival, but I called the agent Sarah had given me details of beforehand and he arranged for it to be cleaned the next day. Otherwise the house was spotless.
There was masses of room for the 8 of us and all the beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and good quality bedding. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked lots of full dinners for 8 without any problem. The central heating in the house worked very well and we were never cold or without hot water, despite the cold and generally awful weather we had for the week. Despite major flood alerts across the UK and almost constant heavy rain, there was never any issue on the estate and all the local roads we used got worse than 'large puddles'. We enjoyed using the log burner on a couple of nights but if I'm honest this was for effect rather than it being cold in the slightest.
The wifi was reliable and fast, which kept the kids happy on their new Xmas tablets.
The ArtSpa on the site is really lovely and the opening hours were very generous and the main pools are both heated to 30 degrees - it's lovely in the evening in the outside one with the lights on. Both pools are a constant 1.2m deep so very safe and child friendly. We never found it crowded. The sauna and steam room (which are poolside) are very good, but we didn't go in for any treatments. There's a child's play area and trampoline next to the Spa too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the quality and space in celandine really came into its own with the poor weather - we were all quite happy to be inside such a lovely property :)

- Thank you for letting us enjoy your stunning home at Lower Mill Estate, Somerford Keynes for our weekend family break.
The house was stunning and set in a wonderful location for us to enjoy the Cotswolds.
The bedrooms were extremely comfy and perfect for the family, with the two en suits an added bonus for both families who stayed.
The living/dining room was very cosy with the log fire and we enjoyed family meals together as the kitchen was kitted out with everything we needed for a great night in.
As we stayed in early November we didn't get chance to fully enjoy the decking area and sky lounge but the views of the surrounding area it offered would be perfect for a summer stay which I'm sure we will be coming back for!
Also the passes to the Artspa pool and gym complemented the package perfectly as we had great fun swimming with the children in the heated indoor and outdoor pool.
All in all I could not recommend this property highly enough as the perfect weekend get away.
'Stunning house, stunning location'
Thanks again for letting us your property and we will certainly be using it again.

We have had a wonderful stay here at Celandine. The house is just so good fab layout for our party of seven four adults and three older teenage girls. Very well equipped and cooked and BBQ a few times during our stay with ease. Living area and outdoor decking superb with great views of Howells Mere lake. Weather been so good and we made good use of outdoor activities swimming and tennis. Highly recommend Katakanu great fun. Food and drinks at Balihoo outdoor bbq area was delicious wood fired pizzas off the chart! Explored local area and recommend Bakers Arms pub for dinner. Site good and very peaceful. Will definitely be coming back to Lower Mill. Thanks for letting us stay 😁
